Drive Across America
5 Apr - The "Drive Across America" is now scheduled for June 2000. It was originally slated for this year but as we got more involved with it, we began to realize just how much of a major undertaking it is, and how difficult getting funds without non-profit status. We believe in the drive and want to do it right. I will be putting more information as it becomes available.
The Christina Volunteers is planning to drive a recreational vehicle across America next June. Departing from Ft. Ord, in Seaside, Ca. (site where Christina disappeared) enroute Washington D.C. Along the route, we will be stopping at various cities and towns to bring to the forefront the tragic problem of abducted children in the United States. Nearly everyday a child is abducted by a stranger, yet not enough is done by law enforcement agencies, nor are laws stringent enough to detere this terrible crime. Any crime against innocent children should never be allowed to happen, but abducting children, particularly a stranger abduction is without a doubt (at least in my opinion) the worst possible crime. Somehow, we must do everything possible to prevent this from happening to your child or someone elses child.
If anyone would like to loan or donate a RV, would like to volunteer to drive, or has any suggestions about the trip, please feel free to e-mail us, or call the Protect the Children Foundation at:
